Very Happy to Be Inconvenienced

So, I’ve been going through my seed catalogs, and I realized that I didn’t have a copy of my beloved Baker Creek Heirloom Seed Catalog yet. I swore I ordered a copy weeks ago, but I am, after all, not exactly known for my organizational skills and razor-sharp memory. So I went over to rareseeds.com to put in an order for a catalog, and I was met with this notice:
“U.S. Customers: Request Free 2010 Seed Catalog!
Due to unprecedented demand, we can no longer bulk mail 2009 Heirloom Seed Catalogs. Sign up now for our new 2010 catalog, to be mailed in December 2009. “
This completely and totally rocks. They ran out of paper catalogs because so many of us are interested in getting our hands on heirloom vegetable seeds. This just does my little green heart proud.
I suppose I’ll shop the catalog online this year. You can still order copies of the paper catalog for five dollars, but I’m too cheap to put up money for something I’m used to getting for free. It’s not the same as curling up under my big red fleece blanket and highlighting the paper copy, but this, my friends, is inconvenience I can believe in 
Did you get a copy before they had to stop taking orders?
I didn’t get a copy. I love leafing through them, but I’m trying to be better by not requesting them. I’ll just look through the website. I’ll probably save some money too by not seeing too many nice & shiny things to order.
Colleen – I did get my Baker Creek catalog this year. I’m glad for them being so successful but bummer for you!
I’ll be glad to mail you my catalog to shop from if you like. I’m planning to order in the next couple of days and them I’m basically done. Email me if you are interested.
