  • Summer Garden Photos: Before and After

I love comparing photos to see how the garden has progressed during the season. This year, the difference was huge, and I thought I’d share a couple before and after photos with you.

Well, that was fun :-) I did the same thing with the new front garden, and I’ll post those photos in the next few days. It will be fun to compare all of these photos year to year. Now I just have to remember to keep taking pictures (I am so bad about that…)

    • Great photos, I too love comparing photos, especially from year to year. You never quite realise just how much things change!!

I recently looked back on mine from when we moved in over a year ago, and things have changed so much.

    • Wow, it is amazing how much stuff fills in, isn’t it? I need to do better time lapse photos like that next year. I am leaving my corn stalks up to dry in place, and then using the stalks for fall decor. Did rip my beans out though. Planted collard greens where my pepper plants were. Cool veggie garden!

    • Wow, fantastic change there! Very appetising. I can’t wait to grow sweet corn again!

    • Great series of photos. It’s neat to see the changes. Amazing how fast things grow. Your tomatoes look beautifully healthy, unlike ours, which have late blight. Your veggie garden is a thing of beauty. If ours was smaller it would be easier to keep neat and tidy. Perhaps hubby will listen to me next year, and remember that there are just two of us!! :)

    • Hi Kerri!

So sorry to hear that you’re dealing with late blight. We’ve been lucky that it hasn’t reached us here in Michigan, though I heard reports that it’s now reached Ohio. I had some plants with Septoria this year, but that was nothing compared to what you gardeners on the East Coast are dealing with!

Thanks for the kind words about the garden. It looks tidier than it really is, though :-)

    • Hi Chookie!

Growing it was fun, but it will be really nice to actually get to eat some — hopefully next year. The squirrels ate every ear of our corn this year, right before it was ready to harvest :-( Must think of some way to protect it better next year!

      Thanks for stopping by!

    • Thanks, Gardenmom! It is amazing how it fills in. And I need a reminder of it come spring, because I still (after all these years of gardening…) overplant because those babies look so scrawny when they first go in :-)

      Thanks for stopping by!

    • Hi Liz!

That’s true — things change quite a bit from year to year. I wish I would have taken photos of the “real before” of the side garden — it was nothing but weeds with a bit of lawn thrown in ;-)

      Thanks for stopping by!
