After he pruned the forsythias, my husband put the longest branches to good use supporting some beans we’d just planted. (Yes, I swooned. Clearly we were made for each other )
I need to do a major pruning on my smoke bush. I’m hoping to do some trellis making with those leftovers. Some say cheap, I say efficient! Reduce, reuse & recycle!
Monica — We just finished pruning one of our huge dogwoods — more branches for bean supports!
Laura — Exactly!
Meems — It works really well, doesn’t it. I wish I would have thought to put fencing up to keep the bunnies out like you did — they got our first planting of beans — the photos are of attempt #2!
Mary — He’s pretty great We don’t have a chainsaw, and I’m not in a hurry to get one!
Aw, that’s so sweet! (Isn’t the word swoon cool, too?) This reminds me my three ninebarks and huuuuge dogwood need pruning.

Nice! My hubby prunes some of our trees and used the smaller branches to make supports too.

That is swoon-worthy! Also, a great use of the branches. My hubby only does projects that involve motors, so all his pruning is done with a chain saw.
I love it!
