I was reading one of my favorite decorating blogs, Nesting Place, and saw that she’s one of the people hosting an event for the month of October called “31 Days of….” You pick a topic and blog about it for 31 days. It seemed like a good way to do a couple of things:
1. Get some of the dozens of posts I have in draft actually finished up and published.
2. Get me back into the blogging groove here.
The more I’ve focused on writing for others, the less I’ve published here and at a few of my other blogs. I’m not complaining — paying work is a wonderful, beautiful thing. But work is work, even when it’s work you love. I’ve missed posting here. And I’m hoping that posting for every day during October will get me into the habit of posting here more regularly.
Coming up with a topic was easy: my gardening obsession is tomatoes, and there is just SO MUCH to say! I’ll be taking a look at some of my favorite varieties this month, giving tips for growing and preserving tomatoes, and just generally allowing myself to enjoy being in full garden geek mode. I’m looking forward to it, and I hope you guys will stop by occasionally and check it out!
I’m also doing the 31 Days of…. over at my Michigan-specific gardening blog, Gardening In the Mitten. Over there, I’m doing “31 Days of Gardening Tips.” If you’re interested in that series, I hope you’ll stop by and check it out!
If you’re interested in doing your own “31 Days of…” series, check out the details over at Nesting Place.
